‘Prey Before You Eat’ (W/T): 50 Cent Teams Up With Rubicon Global Media’s Jorge Granier and Chris Albrecht for Bilingual Crime Drama

50 Cent teams up with Rubicon Global Media’s Jorge Granier and Chris Albrecht for a bilingual crime drama, “Prey Before You Eat” (working title).

The series follows anti-hero Andres Hernandez in a gripping tale set against the backdrop of New York City’s chaos. Seeking solace, Hernandez returns to Puerto Rico, unraveling family secrets and navigating a new set of challenges.

This collaboration reunites 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) and Albrecht who is the former Starz CEO and President. Albrecht greenlit the Power series which spawned into various successful spinoffs. Jackson expressed excitement about rejoining forces with Albrecht, aiming to deliver premium content to underserved audiences.

“I am excited to join forces again with Chris, we have had great success together with the Power Universe. I look forward to bringing more premium content to underserved audiences and doing it with my friend Chris makes it that much better” (exclusive statement given to Deadline)

Albrecht also shared similar sentiments 50 Cent as a creative and business force, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work together.

Rubicon Global Media, founded by Albrecht and Granier, transforms intellectual property from Latin America and Spain into compelling, multinational content. Partnerships include Secuoya Studios and Mexico-based BTF Media.

50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television boasts the Power franchise, featuring ongoing series like Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. Additional credits include For Life for ABC and Black Mafia Family for Starz. The company has a non-exclusive development partnership with Fox and various projects in the works with Paramount+ and BET+.
