85 South Media and Tubi Deepen Ties With New Streaming Deal, Including 10-Episode Collection of The Best of 85 South Show

85 South Media, the Atlanta-based independent media company behind The 85 South Show, has struck a distribution deal with Tubi, Deadline reports exclusively. A curated collection of 10 episodes, The Best of The 85 South Show, featuring Karlous Miller, DC Young Fly, and Chico Bean, will launch soon on the free streaming platform, with additional content expected to follow.

The 85 South Show has grown from an independently produced comedy podcast into a full franchise, amassing more than 750 million views on YouTube and a subscriber base topping 2.56 million. Chad Oubre, CEO and co-founder of 85 South Media, said the company started with “a small team, a few microphones and a shared belief that we could build something of our own,” framing the Tubi expansion as part of a broader effort to grow the brand while continuing to create opportunities for new voices and ideas within it.

This marks an expansion of an existing relationship rather than a new partnership. In October 2025, Tubi announced an exclusive content slate with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat that included 85 South’s first major feature film, 85 South: Dead End, a satirical horror comedy following the trio on a Southern road trip that goes wrong in a town no one ever leaves. That film is set to premiere on Tubi next year.

The deal also arrives alongside a growing live entertainment push for the brand, including the Karlous Miller residency in Atlanta, the Pour Minds: Still Sippin’ nationwide tour, and 85 South Presents: 5 On It. Building a presence across streaming distribution, a feature film, and live touring simultaneously reflects a broader strategy among independent comedy and podcast-driven media brands: rather than relying on a single platform or format, companies like 85 South are increasingly diversifying revenue and audience reach across owned content, licensed distribution, and in-person events at the same time.

With a film already on the way and a free-streaming footprint now expanding on Tubi, 85 South Media’s growth strategy increasingly mirrors how podcast-born comedy brands are building lasting infrastructure well beyond their original YouTube audience.
