This upcoming season introduces three new characters portrayed by Josh Segarra (The Big Door Prize), Kimia Behpoornia (Hacks), and Benjamin Norris (Never Have I Ever). Segarra recurs as Manny, Behpoornia as Emily, and Norris as Simon—enthusiastic representatives of the Philadelphia school district, bringing new perspectives to their positions as school ambassadors.
They join series regulars including show creator Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, and more

The Season 3 premiere sets the stage for a district-wide initiative: Career Day. Janine, known for her quirky and innovative ideas, spearheads this new endeavor.
Meanwhile, the aftermath of the Season 2 smooch between Gregory and Janine continues to unfold, with assurances that they are “good” and “fine.” However, the lingering question remains—can they truly separate personal and professional dynamics?
Quinta Brunson, the star and creator of Abbott Elementary, shared insights into the evolving dynamics of the characters. “We always try to think about Janine and Gregory as individuals first, separate characters,” she explained, emphasizing that their relationship is more complex than a simple teacher’s conference moment.
