ABC’s Hit Series ‘Station 19’ to End With Milestone Seventh Season

Station 19’s farewell season is set to premiere on Thursday, March 14, at 10 PM ET/PT.

ABC’s hit series, Station 19, is set to bid farewell with its upcoming seventh season. The decision, made early in production, aims to provide the show’s producers the opportunity to craft a fitting conclusion for the first responder drama, a spinoff from the network’s flagship Grey’s Anatomy.

The seventh season, comprised of 10 episodes, will see Station 19 reaching its 100th episode milestone. Craig Erwich, President of Disney Television Group, expressed gratitude for the show’s impact on ABC’s lineup, stating, “For seven seasons ‘Station 19’ has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters, and compelling storytelling.”

Station 19, a spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy, delves into the lives of Seattle-based firefighters, exploring relationships and the challenges faced by the city’s first responders. The series stars Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andy Herrera, Jason George as Ben Warren, Grey Damon as Jack Gibson, Barrett Doss as Victoria Hughes, Alberto Frezza as Ryan Tanner, Jay Hayden as Travis Montgomery, Okieriete Onaodowan as Dean Miller, Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop and Miguel Sandoval as Captain Pruitt Herrera.

Over the years, the series has tackled significant issues, earning recognition for its depiction of systemic racism in Season 6.

The show has undergone notable changes in its seventh season, with new showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige taking the helm, succeeding Krista Vernoff. The scheduling shift to Thursdays at 10 PM, following Grey’s Anatomy, signifies a new dynamic between the two dramas, with Station 19 standing more independently.

Despite the changes, the series remains committed to delivering impactful storytelling. Erwich noted, “With Zoanne and Peter at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode.”

As Station 19 concludes its run, ABC introduces a new first responder drama, 9-1-1, to fill the Thursday 8 PM slot. The legacy of Station 19, with its compelling narratives and diverse cast, will leave a lasting mark on television history.

Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Paris Barclay serve as executive producers on the series along with Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige, Stacy McKee It is produced by ABC Signature, part of Disney TV Studios, and Shondaland.
