The American Black Film Festival is taking its programming on the road. NICE CROWD, the company behind ABFF, has announced the full slate for its second annual Pop Up Tour, a four-city national experience bringing film screenings, celebrity conversations, industry panels and community programming to Washington D.C., New York, Atlanta and Houston this fall. Taye Diggs will screen Brown Sugar in Washington D.C., Salli Richardson heads to New York, and Larenz Tate joins the Houston stop for an intimate conversation reflecting on his career, from his recent role in Michael to the upcoming Don’t Ever Wonder alongside Nia Long. Additional talent appearances will be announced across stops.
Anchoring the programming across all four cities is Three Colors: Pan-African, winner of the 2026 ABFF Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Feature. The powerful anthology, inspired by Krzysztof Kieslowski’s Three Colors trilogy and reimagined through the colors of the Pan-African flag, weaves together three stories of liberation, unity and prosperity starring Loretta Devine, Bashir Salahuddin, Peyton Alex Smith, Sibongile Mlambo, Stephen Bishop and Kimrie Lewis. The 2026 HBO Short Film Award Showcase, featuring five finalists selected from the 30th American Black Film Festival, also travels to each city.
Additional highlights include the ABFF Classic Cinema Series presented by AARP, screenwriting masterclasses presented by the New York Film Academy, and Otra, winner of the ABFF Directing Award, a visually stunning one-shot Latino musical starring Rome Flynn, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Dania Ramirez and Armani Ortiz. Funny Feelings, a sharp romantic comedy starring Vena “Pretty Vee” Excell and Tristan “Mack” Wilds, screens in Atlanta and Houston.
The tour dates and venues are as follows: Washington D.C. at Angelika Pop-Up at Union Market (September 25-27), New York at AMC Lincoln Square (October 10-11), Atlanta at AMC Madison Yards (October 24-25) and Houston at Regal Edwards Houston Marq’E (November 7-8).
