Renée Elise Goldsberry and Lynn Whitfield clash in tense road trip drama, Albany Road. Written and directed by Christine Swanson, the film is slated for a limited theatrical release on November 15, 2024.

Albany Road follows Celeste (Goldsberry), a driven New York executive preparing for a crucial business meeting. Her plans take an unexpected turn when she is forced to share a rental car with Paula (Whitfield), her ex-fiancé’s mother. As they embark on a road trip together, tensions rise and secrets come to light, leading to a deeply emotional exploration of family dynamics and personal growth.

The film’s trailer offers a glimpse into the complex relationship between Celeste and Paula. Whitfield’s Paula reflects on the emotional journey, stating, “We come face-to-face with what we fear the most or what we want the most, and sometimes you win—and sometimes you lose.” Goldsberry’s Celeste expresses her frustration during a tense car ride, exclaiming, “I hate being powerless!”

Albany Road also features J. Alphonse Nicholson, Lisa Arrindell, and Gary Dourdan in supporting roles. The film’s score was composed by Leon Lacey, with additional contributions from Grace Gibson and Donald Lawrence.
