Aldis Hodge and Wunmi Mosaku to Star in Amazon MGM Studios Thriller ‘One Night Out’ — George Tillman Jr. to Direct

Aldis Hodge and Wunmi Mosaku are set to star in One Night Out, a new thriller from Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, Deadline reports exclusively. George Tillman Jr. will direct, with the film streaming on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

Nelson Greaves wrote the script, based on his own short story, with revisions by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo. One Night Out follows a married couple navigating marital issues who leave a babysitter home with their three kids during a rare night away, only for the evening to spiral when they spot someone in their house on the nanny cam, forcing them to race home and work together to save their children. Tillman said he’s wanted to work with both Hodge and Mosaku for years and was waiting for the right project to bring them together.

The casting builds on Amazon’s already deep relationship with Hodge, who stars in and executive produces the Prime Video drama Cross, based on the James Patterson novels. The series drew 40 million global viewers in its first 20 days and was recently renewed for a third season. Hodge will next appear opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Road House 2 for Amazon MGM, and recently starred in the indie film The Dutchman, which premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival.

Mosaku, fresh off her Oscar-nominated performance in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, will next appear in Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning alongside Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, and Mikey Madison, releasing Friday via Sony. She’s also set to lead Idris Elba’s This Is How It Goes for Apple TV and recently appeared in The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, Tim Blake Nelson’s prison-break thriller that premiered at last month’s Toronto Film Festival. Tillman will produce One Night Out alongside Bob Teitel, with Tillman’s past directing credits including The Hate U Give and Notorious.

With both leads coming off major prestige wins, Hodge’s expanding action-thriller footprint at Amazon and Mosaku’s Oscar-nominated turn in Sinners, One Night Out pairs two actors at distinctly different, high-momentum points in their careers under a director with a track record of grounding genre material in real emotional stakes.
