‘All American’ Renewed For Eighth and Final Season on The CW

‘All American’ is officially heading back to the field for one final play.

The beloved CW series has been renewed for an eighth and final season, set to deliver 13 more episodes in 2026. From showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll and co-showrunner Jamie Turner, the series underwent a major cast overhaul in Season 7. Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, and Bre-Z returned as series regulars, while new faces like Osy Ikhile and Nathaniel McIntyre joined the ensemble. Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaeze were also upped to series regulars, adding fresh energy and new dynamics to the long-running drama.

The news of the renewal dropped shortly after the Season 7 finale aired on May 5, leaving the Baker family’s legacy hanging by a thread in a major cliffhanger. Although there’s no word yet on an exact premiere date, The CW has promised that this final stretch will give fans a meaningful chance to say goodbye to Spencer James and the rest of the crew.

Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll expressed heartfelt gratitude for the journey so far, calling the final season “the longest love letter” to everyone who brought the show to life. “Thank you to everyone who not only watched the show, but took Spencer James’s mantra of ‘Dream Big. Stay Real’ to heart and were inspired to chase their seemingly impossible dreams,” she said in a statement. “We see you. We salute you. Here’s to leaving it all on the field one last time.”

All American has been a consistent ratings juggernaut for The CW, ranking as the network’s top entertainment program in primetime for adults 18-49 and 25-54, and the No. 1 show on the CW app. This final season will mark an impressive milestone: eight seasons and 132 episodes—a rare feat in modern TV.

Brad Schwartz, President of The CW Network, added: “The series took bold new steps in Season 7, adding exciting new characters to the ones we already love, and viewers truly embraced it all. From the first episode to the last, viewership grew 71% among adults 18-49 and 55% among those 25-54. We can’t wait to see the emotion, heart, and magic that Nkechi and the team deliver in giving this story the proper ending it deserves.”

Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD U.S. Networks, said, “I know Nkechi and our very talented team of writers and executive producers will deliver something unforgettable. Thank you to Greg and Sarah at Berlanti Productions for their leadership, and to our partners at The CW for this opportunity.”

From the start, All American has been a tale of community, ambition, and identity. It’s inspired viewers to believe in their dreams—no matter how far-fetched they might seem. As we gear up for this final ride, one thing’s for sure: we’re ready to leave it all on the field right alongside Spencer James.
