The post-apocalyptic wasteland is about to get a dose of high-octane hilarity as Anthony Mackie takes the wheel in Peacock’s upcoming comedy series, Twisted Metal. A new trailer has been released, offering a thrilling glimpse into the chaotic journey that awaits Mackie’s character, John Doe, as he embarks on a mission to deliver a mysterious package across the dangerous open road.

The trailer showcases the full ensemble cast that Mackie’s character will encounter on his dangerous journey. Alongside him are colorful characters like Raven, played by Neve Campbell, who promises John whatever he desires in return for his assistance. He also crosses paths with Quiet, portrayed by Stephanie Beatriz, a tough and reluctant ally who demands a ride. Together, they face a myriad of challenges, including the menacing Agent Stone (Thomas Hayden Church) and the sadistic Sweet Tooth, brought to life by Joe Seanoa/Will Arnett, in the nightmarish setting of Las Vegas.

Twisted Metal, based on the popular PlayStation game franchise, takes a unique approach under the creative guidance of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the creative minds behind Deadpool and Zombieland. Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith, a devoted fan of the games, ensures that the series captures the essence of the source material.

The star-studded cast of Twisted Metal also includes Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughns, and Lou Beatty Jr. As part of Sony’s efforts to bring more PlayStation IPs to the screen, Twisted Metal joins other exciting projects in development, such as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and the Gran Turismo film helmed by Neil Blomkamp.

Fans won’t have to wait long to embark on this adrenaline-fueled journey, as all ten episodes of Twisted Metal will be available for streaming on Peacock starting July 27. Brace yourself for a wild ride through a post-apocalyptic world filled with chaos, eccentric characters, and explosive action.
