Damson Idris and Brad Pitt have begun shooting for an adrenaline-pumping Formula One (F1) racing movie, set to release on Apple TV+. Over the weekend, the filming of the Formula One movie took place during the British Grand Prix at the iconic Silverstone circuit, where Pitt and Idris were spotted driving laps around the track. Pitt expressed his joy, saying, “It’s all been great. The vibe is amazing, to get to be part of it and tell our story. The teams have opened their doors to us”

Speaking about the project, Pitt shared intriguing details about his character, stating, “I play a guy who raced in the 1990s… who has a horrible crash, craps out and disappears, then he’s racing in other disciplines.” Pitt continued, “His friend, played by Javier Bardem, he’s a team owner, contacts him. They’re a last-place team, they’re 21-22 on the grid, they’ve never scored a point. But they have a young phenom, played by Damson Idris, and they bring me in as kind of a Hail Mary and hijinks ensue.” Pitt expressed his excitement about the film’s immersive experience, mentioning, “Tell you what’s amazing about it — there are cameras mounted all over the car — you’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen just the G-forces like this. It’s really, really exciting.”

The movie’s screenplay is penned by Ehren Kruger, known for his work on “Top Gun: Maverick.” Adding to the project’s prestige, Sir Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time Formula One champion, is producing the film under his Dawn Apollo Films banner, alongside Bruckheimer, Oman, and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Apple intends to give the film a theatrical release for at least 30 days before making it available on their streaming platform, Apple TV+. This strategy aligns with Apple’s expanding presence in theatrical distribution, including notable collaborations with projects like “Flower Moon” and “Napoleon.”
