Ashton Sanders is stepping into survival mode for his next role. The Judas and the Black Messiah actor has officially joined the cast of Corporate Retreat, a new horror-thriller currently in pre-production.
Written and directed by Aaron Fisher (Inside the Rain), the film flips the idea of a peaceful company getaway on its head. Think team-building exercises, but with a whole lot more blood. The plot follows a group of corporate execs who find themselves fighting for their lives after their seemingly harmless retreat turns into a nightmare orchestrated by a revenge-seeking retreat leader. Kerri Lee Romeo co-wrote the script alongside Fisher.
Also joining the chaos is Rosanna Arquette, a familiar face whose iconic roles span decades—Pulp Fiction, Desperately Seeking Susan, The Whole Nine Yards, and more. Most recently, she’s been seen in Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, Netflix’s Florida Man, and ABC’s Big Sky.
Production is set to kick off in June, with Passage Pictures backing the project. Uri Singer, whose producing credits include Noah Baumbach’s White Noise and Michael Almereyda’s Tesla and Marjorie Prime, is behind the scenes on this one too.
“We are so thrilled to welcome Rosanna and Ashton to Corporate Retreat,” Singer shared in a statement. “They are incredibly talented performers who will bring tremendous depth to these characters.”
Sanders continues to add powerful roles to his resume, with previous credits including Judas and the Black Messiah, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, and The Equalizer 2.
We don’t know exactly what’s waiting in the woods at this retreat—but with Sanders and Arquette onboard, we’re definitely checking in for whatever horrors await.
