Aurelia Williams and Awa Sal Secka Join Broadway-Bound Musical ‘Wanted’

Broadway’s upcoming musical Wanted has added two more to its cast. Aurelia Williams and Awa Sal Secka will play Sissy and Flo respectively, reprising their performances from the musical’s earlier developmental runs. Williams previously played the role at Paper Mill Playhouse while Secka originated her role at Signature Theatre.

They join a previously announced cast that includes Solea Pfeiffer as Mary Clarke, Liisi LaFontaine as Martha Clarke, Luke James as Elijah and Ledisi as Tallulah Clarke.

Based on a true story, Wanted follows Black twin sisters Mary and Martha Clarke, who were able to pass for white and hide in plain sight while on the run in 1893 Texas. As forces close in around them, the sisters are pushed into a world where survival demands impossible choices, testing the limits of loyalty, freedom and sacrifice. The musical features a book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri, a descendant of the Sisters Clarke, and music by Ross Baum.

Obie winner and Tony nominee Stevie Walker-Webb directs with choreography by Chelsey Arce. The production, previously titled Gun & Powder, played Paper Mill Playhouse in spring 2024 before undergoing further development.

Wanted begins previews October 15 at the James Earl Jones Theatre, with opening night set for November 8.
