Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich to Lead Horror Film ‘Opus’ From Director Mark Anthony Green

Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”) and John Malkovich (“Billions”) will star in the horror film ‘Opus.’ The project is directed by Mark Anthony Green and financed and produced by A24. Additional cast members include Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), Amber Midthunder (“PREY”), and Stephanie Suganami. Young Mazino (“Beef”), and Tatanka Means, with talks ongoing for Juliette Lewis (“Yellowjacket”) round out the cast.

While the plot details are shrouded in secrecy, the film is set to explore the return of an iconic pop star after a decades-long disappearance. The production initially received an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA to proceed before the strikes officially ended.

Executive producers include Charles D. King from Macro and Sara Newkirk Simon. Grammy Award Winners The-Dream and Nile Rodgers will contribute original songs and serve as executive producers. Collin Creighton and Brad Weston for Makeready, Poppy Hanks and Jelani Johnson for Macro Film Studios, and Josh Bachove are all attached to produce.
