In the film, Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family. When there her youngest stepdaughter Alice develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey.
Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more concerning, Jessica intervenes, only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believes him to be.
Betty Bucley, Veronica Falcón, Dane DiLiegro, and Matthew Soto are also attached to star in it.
Imaginary is directed by Jeff Wadlow and co-written by Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland. DeWanda Wise is not only the star but also a creative partner in the project, aiming to test the notion that the audience’s imagination can be scarier than any movie.
In addition to “Imaginary,” DeWanda Wise is involved in other projects, including the Starz series adaptation of “Three Women,” the feature “Poolman,” and the supernatural thriller “Killing Faith.” She recently appeared in “Jurassic Park: Dominion” and “The Harder They Fall.”
