BET Renews Tyler Perry’s Sistas for Season 9—Sets Premiere Date

The Sistas aren’t going anywhere! Ahead of tonight’s Season 8 finale, BET Media Group has officially renewed Tyler Perry’s Sistas for a ninth season, locking in a return date of Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 9 PM ET/PT.

Since its debut, Sistas has been holding it down as one of BET’s biggest hits, and 2024 was no different—it was the #1 show on all of TV for Black viewers 18-49. With its mix of unshakable friendships, career highs and lows, and relationship drama that keeps audiences on their toes, the show continues to deliver the twists and turns that make Wednesday nights appointment TV.

If there’s one thing we know about Sistas, it’s that nothing stays quiet for long. Season 9 promises even deeper emotions, bigger reveals, and more of the powerful storytelling that has kept viewers invested for years. But before we jump ahead, there’s still plenty of drama to unfold in tonight’s Season 8 finale, titled “Before You Walk Out of My Life.”

Tonight’s episode sees the ladies stepping into newfound success—but, of course, happiness doesn’t come without its complications.

  • Andi is at a crossroads, trying to figure out if she should fight for Robin before he’s gone for good.
  • Sabrina finally gets closure from an old flame, just as she’s faced with a major decision about her future with Rich.
  • Danni’s lawsuit takes a serious turn, threatening her relationship with Tony.
  • Karen and Fatima—yes, Karen and Fatima—find themselves growing closer in ways they never expected.
  • Gary’s investigation? Let’s just say it all comes to a head with shocking revelations.

The episode airs tonight, Wednesday, March 12, at 9 PM ET/PT.

For those who need to get up to speed, all previous seasons of Tyler Perry’s Sistas are available on BET+. And if you want to join the conversation, jump on social media with #SistasOnBET to see what everyone’s saying.

The series, written, directed, and executive produced by Tyler Perry, stars KJ Smith, Mignon, Ebony Obsidian, Novi Brown, Crystal Renee’ Hayslett, Devale Ellis, Chido Nwokocha, Brian Jordan Jr., Angela “Angie” Beyincé, Branden Wellington, and Kevin A. Walton.

With Season 9 officially on the way, it’s safe to say the Sistas still have plenty more story to tell. Will your favorites make it through the next round of life’s ups and downs? Stay tuned.
