It’s official—Netflix isn’t letting go of Beauty in Black anytime soon. The streamer has renewed the hit series for a second season, set to be released in two parts. Given the show’s chart-topping success and Tyler Perry’s track record with Netflix, this news isn’t exactly shocking, but it’s definitely welcome.

Since its debut, Beauty in Black has been pulling in serious numbers. Part 1 spent four weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 and hit #1 in 28 countries during its second week. Part 2, which just dropped on March 6, has kept up the momentum, proving that audiences are locked in for Kimmie’s story.
Perry himself couldn’t be more excited, telling TUDUM.com:
“We left fans on the edge of their seats at the end of Season 1, and we’re thrilled to continue Kimmie’s journey as she steps into her power as the newest member of the Bellaire family. Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold. If you thought Season 1 was a wild ride, you’re not ready for Season 2.”
For those who need a refresher, Beauty in Black follows Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), a young woman who gets caught up in the ruthless world of a high-powered beauty empire with deep, dark secrets—including an underground trafficking ring. Season 1 saw her going from an outsider struggling to survive to a force of vengeance, determined to take control. The series also stars Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Ricco Ross, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. Robinson, Ashley Versher, George Middlebrook, and Ts Madison.
Season 2 promises to turn up the heat even more, as Kimmie continues her power play against the Bellaire family.
With multiple projects in the works at Netflix, including The Six Triple Eight, Straw, R&B, and the upcoming Madea’s Destination Wedding, Perry’s partnership with the streamer is only getting stronger.
For now, fans can stream all episodes of Beauty in Black on Netflix—and with Season 2 officially on the way, the ride is far from over.
