Black Girl Vitamins (BGV) has launched Kitchen Confessions, a new video podcast bringing Black women together for candid conversations about the health, wellness, and life experiences shaping their lives.
The series is hosted by Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, a BGV brand partner and cast member of Married to Medicine, and brings together physicians, entrepreneurs, mothers, and community leaders to discuss motherhood, mental health, aging, perimenopause, self-care, identity, and more. Guests share personal stories alongside expert insight, digging into what actually changes during these life stages, what women often aren’t prepared for, and what they wish they’d understood sooner.
Season 1’s guest lineup includes psychiatrist and fellow Married to Medicine cast member Dr. Mimi Sanders, entrepreneur Kesha “Pea” Ward, wife of Grammy-winning rapper 2 Chainz, and Christina “Ms. Basketball” Granville, bringing a mix of professional expertise and lived experience to each conversation.
The season premiered September 23 with an episode on pregnancy and motherhood, with an upcoming conversation on aging and perimenopause set to follow. Future episodes will cover PCOS, weight management and exercise, fibroids, and beauty.
Kitchen Confessions builds on BGV’s short film The Visit, continuing the brand’s investment in original storytelling centered on Black women’s health experiences.
“Black women deserve to see the full range of their health and wellness experiences reflected in the conversations around them,” said Jennifer Juma, chief strategy officer at Black Girl Vitamins. “Kitchen Confessions brings lived experience and expert perspective together in a way that feels honest, relevant and connected to women’s lives.”
New episodes premiere on Black Girl Vitamins’ YouTube channel.
