Apple TV+’s comedy Protective Custody, starring and executive produced by Ben Stiller and Benicio Del Toro, has rounded out its cast with five additions: Shawntay Dalon (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson), Isaac Stephen Montgomery (Lucky), Pej Vahdat (Bones), Judd Goodstein (You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah), and Andrew Mayer (Wu-Tang: An American Saga).
From creators Mike Judge, Steve Hely, and Dave King, Protective Custody follows a disgraced financier accused of massive fraud who lands in protective custody, where he has to navigate prison politics, salvage his reputation, and reckon with the consequences of his actions while awaiting trial.
The group will recur alongside Janeane Garofalo. Previously announced series regulars include Stiller, Del Toro, Samson Kayo, Amy Sedaris, and Sonny Valicenti. As with the rest of the cast, character details for the new additions haven’t been disclosed.
Judge, Hely, and King co-write, co-showrun, and executive produce the series, with Judge also directing. Ben Silverman, Howard Owens, and Rodney Ferrell executive produce for Propagate Content, alongside Stiller and John Lesher for Red Hour, Michael Rotenberg and Oly Obst for 3 Arts Entertainment, Del Toro, Nanette Burstein, and Blair Breard.
