Undercover Gone Wrong: British Comedy Thriller Black Ops Sets Hulu Premiere Date [TRAILER]

Two rookie cops. One dangerous mission. Zero experience.

Hulu just dropped the official trailer for Black Ops, the British comedy thriller that’s bringing high-stakes undercover chaos to the U.S. The British comedy thriller is landing on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on February 25, 2025. Originally premiering on BBC iPlayer last summer, the six-episode series flips the classic crime drama formula on its head with a hilarious yet action-packed take on the undercover world.

Created by and starring Gbemisola Ikumelo (Famalam, A League of Their Own) and Akemnji Ndifornyen (Famalam, The Queen’s Gambit), Black Ops follows two community support officers thrown into an undercover assignment that’s way above their pay grade. The duo, along with Hammed Animashaun (Black Mirror, The Wheel of Time), must navigate a world of crime, deception, and plenty of “what did we just get ourselves into” moments.

The stacked cast also features:

  • Ariyon Bakare (His Dark Materials)
  • Joanna Scanlan (After Love)
  • Robbie Gee (Motherland)
  • Jo Martin (Holby City)
  • Lucian Msamati (Gangs of London)
  • Zoë Wanamaker (Shadow and Bone)

This one comes from BBC Studios Comedy Production, co-produced with Mondo Deluxe. Ikumelo and Ndifornyen lead as executive producers, alongside Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woolf, who also co-wrote the series. Josh Cole executive produces for BBC Studios Productions, with Ben Gregor directing.

Since BBC Studios is handling international distribution, Black Ops is unlikely to hit Disney+ globally. But for U.S. viewers? The countdown to chaos starts now.
