The first trailer for Both Eyes Open has arrived, offering a chilling glimpse into a psychological thriller that questions what’s real and what’s imagined. Starring Gail Bean (Snowfall) and Taye Diggs (The Best Man), the film will open in limited U.S. theaters on January 17, 2025, via RodFather Productions.

The cast also features Joy Brunson (This Is Us), Christie Leverette (You’ll Never Leave Me), Tristan Mack Wilds (The Wire), Michael Oloyede (This is Paradise), and Carla Fisher (The Boss).
Written and directed by Ariel Julia Hairston (The Comeback), Both Eyes Open follows Ally (played by Bean), a woman seeking a fresh start after leaving an abusive relationship. Her recovery is disrupted by hallucinations of her abuser and mysterious messages that hint he may still be nearby. As the cryptic signs intensify, Ally’s reality begins to unravel, leading her to a shocking revelation much closer to home.
The indie film was shot earlier this year in Atlanta and was produced by RodFather Productions in association with Oasis Ave Films. Executive producers include Roderick McClure, Joshua Ferrell, Hairston, and Bean.
Gail Bean continues to add notable projects to her growing resume, including P-Valley, Harlem, and The Piano Lesson.
Both Eyes Open marks a reunion for director Hairston and Taye Diggs, who previously worked together on the romantic comedy The Comeback.
