Blackfilmandtv.com has exclusive details about the upcoming comedy “The Fabulous Four,” set to be released in theaters by Bleecker Street on July 26, 2024. Directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, the film stars Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph, Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, two-time Academy Award nominee Bette Midler, two-time Emmy winner Megan Mullally, and now, the talented Brandee Evans.
Written by Ann Marie Allison and Jenna Milly, The Fabulous Four will follow three lifelong friends as they travel to Key West, Florida to be bridesmaids at the surprise wedding of their college girlfriend, Marilyn (played by Midler). With the celebration drawing near, their sisterly bond becomes even stronger as they do toasts, reflect on their shared past, and experience romance during the trip. Jocelyn Moorehouse’s (The Dressmaker) feature film went into production last year in Australia, and is now gearing towards its theatrical release this summer. The timing couldn’t be more fitting, considering that summer is the go-to season for weddings.
Evans, known for her role as “Mercedes” on Starz’s “P-Valley,” joins the cast as Ralph’s daughter in the film. In addition to Evans, Bruce Greenwood, Timothy V. Murphy, and Renika Williams are also cast in the film. The film was also executive produced by Gabrielle Jerou-Tabak and produced by Richard Barton Lewis.
Richard Barton Lewis’ Southpaw Entertainment is producing alongside Lauren Hantz of Hantz Motion Pictures. Ahead of the film’s release, Bleeker Street set the stage for a the summer rom-com with the release of a first-look image. In the unveiled image, Midler dazzles in a wedding dress and veil, surrounded by her co-stars Ralph, Sarandon, and Mullally, radiating excitement and camaraderie. This first glimpse sets the tone for a feel-good comedy that explores the bonds of sisterhood, the nostalgia of shared memories, and the magic of unexpected adventures.
