The cast of Thud, the darkly comedic supernatural romance starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as the Grim Reaper and Rudy Pankow as the Devil, is now complete. Six final additions have been announced: Brandon Scott, Lauren Holt, Anna Akana, Kevin Bigley, Brian McElhaney and Vincent Rodriguez III. Character details for all six are being kept under wraps.
They join a cast that already includes Sterling Sulieman, Piper Curda, Sujata Day, Steve Agee, Karan Soni, Dot-Marie Jones and Katie Parker.
Directed by Mali Elfman from an original screenplay by Noga Pnueli, Thud follows the Grim Reaper and the Devil as they arrive at a three-day destination wedding with plans to wreak havoc, only to find themselves unexpectedly falling in love.
Scott is known for Off Campus. Holt is a former SNL cast member. Akana is known for Go Back to China. Bigley is known for Upload. McElhaney is known for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Rodriguez is known for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
The film recently wrapped principal photography in Los Angeles with the support of a California tax credit. It is produced by Derek Bishé and David Grove Churchill Viste. Executive producers include Radio Silence’s Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Helmstreet Productions’ Lindsay Helms and Joel Nevells, Divide/Conquer’s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks, Dan Lawler and Pnueli.
