Brely Evans, Trina Braxton and More Star in Holiday Crime Comedy ‘Christmas Cover-Up’

Three underpaid, overworked employees joking about murdering their boss is one thing. Finding him dead in a Santa suit the morning of the store’s biggest sale is another. STARZ is leaning into that exact chaos with Christmas Cover-Up, premiering November 1.

The film centers on Tori, Gwen, and Sam, coworkers at a payday loan store who’ve spent years venting about their boss Marty through dark jokes about killing him. When he actually turns up dead hours before a major holiday promotion, their history of complaints suddenly makes them the obvious suspects. So instead of calling the police, they hide the body and try to keep the store running like nothing happened, a plan that falls apart fast once customers, coworkers, security, and a string of surprise visitors start cycling through.

Brely Evans, Trina Braxton, Towanda Braxton, Skye Griffin, Ray “Misster Ray ” Cunningham, and Gabriel Bush star in the film, with Bobby Peoples and Renee Peoples directing from a script by Camara Davis. Jami McCoy-Lankford produces for Hillionaire Productions alongside Eric Tomosunas for Swirl Films.

Most holiday movies this time of year lean on mistletoe and reconciliation arcs. This one swaps that out for a body in a storeroom and three women trying not to get caught, using Christmas as the ticking clock rather than the cure. It’s a sharper, more comedic entry into a genre that usually plays things safe.
