Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for The Beekeeper 2, confirming a January 15, 2027 theatrical release. Jason Statham reprises his role as Adam Clay, the former operative of the clandestine Beekeeper organization, who’s pulled back into action after the group goes rogue and sets its sights on seizing control of the government.
Jeremy Irons’ character tells Clay the Beekeepers “want complete control of the government, and they’re prepared to kill anyone who gets in their way,” setting Clay on a mission against the very organization that trained him. Directed by Timo Tjahjanto, known for The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays, the sequel takes over from original director David Ayer, though writer Kurt Wimmer remains credited on the screenplay alongside Zak Penn. The trailer notably outfits Clay with a 1969 Dodge Super Bee rigged with a passenger-side minigun.
Irons reprises his role as Wallace Westwyld, alongside fellow returning cast members Emmy Raver-Lampman as FBI agent Verona Parker, Bobby Naderi as her partner Matt Wiley, and Jemma Redgrave as President Jessica Danforth. Pom Klementieff, Yara Shahidi, and Adam Copeland all join the franchise as new additions.
The original 2024 film grossed $162.6 million worldwide and earned a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, built around Clay’s campaign against a cyberscam network run by the son of the sitting U.S. president. Jason Statham produces through his Punch Palace Productions banner alongside Chris Long and Wimmer, with Jonathan Glickman, Thom Zadra, Alexandra Loewy, Rachael Cole, and David Ayer executive producing.
With a new director known for pushing gore and intensity further than his predecessor, and a villainous organization now operating at a government-level scale, the real test for The Beekeeper 2 is whether it can escalate the stakes without losing the grounded, personal revenge-thriller tone that made the first film resonate.
