Hacks is loading up on talent for season 4, and among the latest additions are Bresha Webb (Run the World, Sisters) and Jasmine Ashanti (Upload, Grey’s Anatomy).
Hacks is a sharp, Emmy-winning comedy that follows legendary stand-up comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a Las Vegas icon who’s been in the game for decades but finds her career at a crossroads. In a bid to stay relevant and refresh her material, she’s reluctantly paired with Ava (Hannah Einbinder), a young, outspoken comedy writer who’s been canceled in Hollywood. What starts as a mismatched partnership slowly turns into an unlikely yet deeply complex mentorship, filled with biting humor, generational clashes, and unexpected growth for both women.
The series dives into the entertainment industry’s shifting landscape, the struggles of maintaining longevity in comedy, and the complicated dynamics of female ambition, all wrapped in Hacks’ signature wit and dark humor.
Season 4 picks up with Deborah and Ava stepping into uncharted territory as they launch Deborah’s very own late-night talk show. With the stakes higher than ever, tensions rise as they navigate the cutthroat world of television, all while trying to make history in the process.
As always, expect sharp dialogue, industry satire, and plenty of behind-the-scenes drama as Deborah fights to stay on top—this time, on an entirely new stage. The new season will also feature a mix of returning favorites and fresh faces, plus some major surprise cameos.
Webb joins the season as a guest star alongside Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown), Michaela Watkins (The Dropout), Robby Hoffman (Verified), and Eric Balfour (The Offer), adding even more dynamic energy to the Emmy-winning series. Meanwhile, Ashanti is set to appear as one of the writers on Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) new late-night show. She’ll be joined in the writers’ room by Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore III, Holmes, Katy Sullivan (Dexter: New Blood), Matt Oberg (Abbott Elementary), and Sandy Honig (Three Busy Debras).
Returning cast members include Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo, alongside a lineup of familiar faces such as Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari.
And if that wasn’t enough, Hacks is also teasing some big surprise cameos this season.
Behind the scenes, the series remains in the hands of its Emmy-winning creators and showrunners Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, who also executive produce alongside Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation), David Miner (30 Rock), and Morgan Sackett (Veep). Universal Television continues to serve as the studio.
No official premiere date yet, but with this lineup, season 4 is shaping up to be another must-watch.
