The 11th Annual Truth Awards are back and ready to celebrate Black Queer Excellence in a way that’s equal parts powerful and unapologetic. Hosted by Better Brothers Los Angeles (BBLA) and The DIVA Foundation, and powered by ViiV, this two-day event is more than just a ceremony—it’s a statement. Taking place at the iconic Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday, March 15, 2025, this black-tie affair will spotlight trailblazers, changemakers, and pioneers whose impact reaches far beyond their industries.

But before the main event, the weekend kicks off with Act I: ‘Passing the Torch’ on Friday, March 14, 2025, at The Aster in Hollywood. This intimate ceremony will honor four rising leaders—James Bland, Preston Mitchum, Amber Whittington, and Terell Grice—who are carving out their own lanes and setting the bar high for the next generation.

The Main Event: A Night to Celebrate

The celebration continues Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 5:30 PM, when the Beverly Hilton transforms into the ultimate tribute to resilience, authenticity, and excellence. Expect an unforgettable evening filled with heartfelt speeches, standout performances, and an afterparty that’s sure to keep the energy going well into the night.

More Than Just Awards

For BBLA and The DIVA Foundation, the Truth Awards aren’t just about celebrating achievements—they’re about empowering the future. Since launching, BBLA has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to support the educational aspirations of the Black LGBTQ+ community. This year, more scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to students striving to reach their goals. Those interested in supporting the initiative can make tax-deductible donations to the Impact Fund at givebutter.com/bbla.

With additional performers and presenters set to be announced, this year’s Truth Awards promises to be an unforgettable tribute to those who are shaping culture, policy, and the arts by living their truths boldly.
