CBS Drops Teaser Trailer for New Mike Colter-Led Legal Drama ‘Cupertino’ — Premiering This Fall

CBS has released the official teaser for Cupertino, the upcoming legal drama from The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King, offering the best look yet at the Silicon Valley-set series ahead of its October 8 premiere during CBS Premiere Week.

The show follows Michael, played by Mike Colter, an attorney who is cheated out of his stock options by his former tech startup employer and refuses to back down. He teams up with Olivia, played by Rachel Keller, a Midwestern law school graduate who is also fired from a Silicon Valley startup. Together they launch an underdog law firm dedicated to representing everyday people exploited by the tech elite in a high-stakes David vs. Goliath battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley.

The ensemble cast includes Renée Elise Goldsberry as Renee, a formidable opposing attorney who shares both professional history and romantic tension with Michael. Busy Philipps plays Natalia Boutella, Nik Dodani plays Vik, a sharp-edged coder who turns to Michael and Olivia for help when his own tech company turns against him, and Ella Stiller plays Christy, a young assistant at the new firm. Joe Morton recurs as Bayard, Michael’s celebrity lawyer father whose towering reputation casts a long shadow over his son. Guest stars include Rob McClure and Steven Pasquale.

Robert King explained the timeliness of the premise. “The reality of the moment is tech is everywhere, AI is everywhere, and the Goliaths that control trillions and trillions of dollars and the economy are in one place: Silicon Valley,” he said. “There’s never been a David versus Goliath-ness of this size, where the Goliaths are so large, and the Davids are so small.”

The series is produced by CBS Studios with Robert and Michelle King serving as co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Liz Glotzer and Sam Hoffman. Robert King will direct the premiere episode.

Cupertino premieres Thursday, October 8 on CBS alongside George & Mandy’s First Marriage, Eternally Yours and Elsbeth.
