Looks like Elle Woods is getting some serious backstory—and she won’t be doing it alone.
Chandler Kinney, known for her standout roles in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and Lethal Weapon, is the latest name to join Prime Video’s upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle. She’ll star alongside Gabrielle Policano (Baby Girl) and Jacob Moskovitz (Y2K), rounding out a fresh trio of series regulars joining the cast.

Set in Elle Woods’ high school years, Elle takes us back to the moments that shaped the iconic future Harvard law student. Think pink, ambition, and a whole lot of drama—just earlier in the timeline.
The series, created by Laura Kittrell, is executive produced by none other than Legally Blonde’s own Reese Witherspoon, who’s teaming back up with Lauren Neustadter via their Hello Sunshine banner, alongside series showrunner Caroline Dries and OG film producer Marc Platt. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is on deck to direct the first two episodes. It’s all being brought to life under Amazon MGM Studios and Hello Sunshine.
As for the new roles? Moskovitz steps in as Miles, the charming star athlete who can’t help but be intrigued by Elle’s unexpected spark. Kinney will portray Kimberly, a quick-witted senior with a sharp tongue and no patience for Elle’s sunshine vibes. And Policano takes on Liz, a full-blown anti-Elle who’s likely to stir the pot every chance she gets.
They’ll be joining the previously announced cast that includes Lexi Minetree as young Elle Woods, June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother Eva, and Tom Everett Scott as her dad Wyatt.
Let’s talk receipts: Kinney has been stacking credits, from Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise—where she plays the fearless ‘Willa’—to voicing the role in the animated spin-off and competing her way to third place on Dancing with the Stars. She’s repped by Paradigm, Industry Entertainment, and Gang Tyre Ramer.
Moskovitz, a New York-based talent, is booked and busy too. He’s got Seth Meyers’ upcoming feature Brian in the pipeline, alongside recent appearances in A24’s Y2K, Chicago P.D., The Good Fight, and FBI: International. He’s repped by CESD.
As for Policano (she/they), they’re a theatre powerhouse with recent turns at Yale Rep and Second Stage, plus a supporting role opposite Nicole Kidman in A24’s Babygirl. A spoken word poet as well, Policano brings depth on and off screen. They’re repped by CESD and Suskin/Karshan Management.
Between the star power, smart writing, and a world we already love—Elle is shaping up to be a stylish, fun, and heartfelt dive into the early years of everyone’s favorite future lawyer.
