During a panel discussion for Creed III, Winkler expressed enthusiasm for Creed 4, stating, “We are planning to do Creed 4 right now.” Despite facing delays due to industry-wide strikes, the team is gearing up for pre-production about a year from now.

Winkler confirmed Jordan’s return as director, praising his excellent work and comfort behind the camera. The announcement comes on the heels of the success of Creed III, which grossed over $275 million worldwide and received acclaim for its engaging storyline and performances.

The Creed franchise, an extension of the Rocky movies, follows Adonis Creed, portrayed by Jordan, as he navigates the boxing world and grapples with the impact on his family legacy. The franchise has amassed a staggering $663 million globally across its first three movies.

Reflecting on the creative forces behind Creed III, Winkler highlighted the vision to create a new and distinct experience for the audience. The success of the Rocky franchise, to which Creed is connected, further emphasizes the enduring appeal of the series.

In an earlier statement to IGN in February 2023, Jordan who made his directorial debut with Creed III confirmed the development of Creed 4.

Jordan first appeared as Adonis in 2015’s Creed, followed by the 2018 sequel and 2023 threequel. Sylvester Stallone reprised his role as Rocky Balboa in the first two Creed installments, serving as a mentor to Adonis, the son of his former rival Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Creed 3 marked the first entry in the series without Stallone.
