Netflix is ramping up the anticipation for its new psychological thriller series His and Hers, adding Crystal Fox (The Big Door Prize), Sunita Mani (Death of a Unicorn), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Four Weddings and a Funeral), and Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy) to the project.
The six-episode limited series, based on Alice Feeney’s novel of the same name, is helmed by acclaimed director William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth). Set in the simmering heat of Atlanta, His and Hers is a seductive and twisty tale of secrets, lies, and murder.
Executive-produced by and starring Tessa Thompson (Creed, Thor), the series follows Anna (Thompson), a reclusive news anchor who’s withdrawn from her career and friends. Her life is turned upside down when she overhears news of a murder in her quiet hometown of Dahlonega, Georgia. Determined to uncover the truth, Anna finds herself entwined in a murder investigation led by her estranged husband, Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal), whose suspicions place her in the heart of the investigation.
Meet the New Cast Members of His and Hers:
- Crystal Fox stars as Alice, Anna’s strong-willed mother who resides in Dahlonega. Despite her declining health, Alice remains sharp and outspoken, though she hasn’t heard from her daughter in over a year. Tensions rise as her son-in-law, Detective Harper, watches over her while dealing with the murder investigation.
- Sunita Mani joins as Priya, an eager and quirky new detective at the Sheriff’s Office in Dahlonega. As Jack Harper’s new partner, Priya’s enthusiasm for solving murders is both endearing and frustrating for her mentor.
- Rebecca Rittenhouse plays Lexy, the ambitious new anchor at WSK-TV News. After capitalizing on Anna’s absence, Lexy moved into the coveted anchor chair. While outwardly pleased with Anna’s return, Lexy has no intention of stepping aside.
- Marin Ireland appears in a guest role as Zoe, Jack Harper’s sister. A woman who peaked in high school, Zoe’s love for wine and small-town gossip fuels her fascination with the murder case that’s unfolding in their community.
Pablo Schreiber rounds out the cast as Richard, one of WSK-TV’s top cameramen and the husband of the ambitious Lexy. When Anna returns to the news station, she picks Richard to cover the Dahlonega murder story, complicating Lexy’s ambition to maintain her position as lead anchor.
Oldroyd will direct three of the six episodes, including the premiere. The series is penned by Dee Johnson (The Good Wife, ER) and Bill Dubuque (Ozark), with Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films serving as executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio behind the project.
His and Hers is slated to begin production this fall, with viewers eagerly awaiting what promises to be a tension-filled psychological thriller that explores the complexities of truth, lies, and betrayal.
