“Launching our new concert series is an incredible milestone, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this vision to life,” said Abdul Karim Abdullah, CEO and Co-Founder of AfroFuture. “AfroFuture has always been about reinvention, and each year we find new ways to showcase the beauty and diversity of African culture. Detty December is a season like no other—it unites people from all walks of life to celebrate our music, art, and shared heritage. This series is another step toward expanding our reach and capturing the energy and unity that defines AfroFuture.”
To enhance the festival experience and emphasize its commitment to uniting the African diaspora, CMG has collaborated with Afreximbank, Berry Health, Verna Water, and programming partners Black Health Connect and Distant Relatives.
Ahead of Culture Beach Jam, CMG has planned several community-centered initiatives aimed at empowering creatives and fostering engagement:
- The Continent Live Music Program (December 15–21, 2024): This weeklong music camp will include a three-day songwriting session with artists ranging from emerging talent to established acts. Participants will receive training in media and press relations, with additional masterclasses covering topics like contracting, management, and finance, presented in partnership with the British Council. The program will close with a music showcase to highlight the collaborations.
- Annual Community Health Fair (December 27, 2024): At Zurak Park in Madina, this fair will provide free health services, including screenings and mental health consultations, to around 1,500 attendees. AfroFuture Feed will also provide meals during the event, organized in collaboration with Black Health Connect and Distant Relatives.
- BAL Celebrity Basketball Game (December 27, 2024): Hosted at Bukom Boxing Arena, this game will feature Basketball Africa League (BAL) players alongside artists and celebrities, creating a unique blend of sports and entertainment. The event is presented by Hennessy.
- The African Dream Focus Group (December 30, 2024): In partnership with Gensler, this discussion will bring together students, professionals, government officials, and investors to explore actionable strategies for achieving the “African Dream.” The session will encourage collaboration and innovative solutions for Africa’s future.
