MRC has confirmed that Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Sterling K. Brown have joined the cast of The Gallerist, Cathy Yan’s upcoming film, alongside previously announced stars Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega.
Written by Cathy Yan (Birds of Prey) and James Pedersen (High Heat), The Gallerist follows a desperate art gallery owner who conspires to sell a dead body at Art Basel Miami.

The film’s ensemble cast also includes Emmy nominee Zach Galifianakis (Only Murders in the Building), Golden Globe nominee Daniel Brühl (The Franchise), Grammy nominee Charli XCX (I Want Your Sex), and Oscar and Tony winner Catherine Zeta-Jones (Wednesday). Production is set to begin soon.
The film is produced by Ash Sarohia (The Little Hours), Jonathan King (Green Book), Sophie Mas and Natalie Portman (May December), Tom McCarthy (Spotlight), Rae Baron (Stillwater), and Zola Elgart Glassman (Alone Together).
MRC, which is independently financing the project, is also developing Wuthering Heights, directed by Emerald Fennell and starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. Its recent releases include Saltburn, American Fiction, and Fair Play.
