Dexter Morgan has a midlife crisis on his hands, and that’s before accounting for the two new serial killers closing in on him. Paramount+ released the official trailer for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, returning October 30.
The new season introduces Brian Cox as The New York Ripper Don Frampt, a serial killer who terrorized the city years earlier, and Dan Stevens as Owen Stark, the Five Borough Killer and the season’s second major antagonist. A third killer, Ray Ballard, known as The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger, will be played by Gabriel Luna in a guest role. From showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, the season finds Dexter caught between a killer with decades of notoriety and a newer, younger one terrorizing New York in unprecedented ways, all while he grapples with an unexpected midlife crisis. His son Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, continues pursuing his own version of justice as father and son face what’s being billed as their darkest chapter yet.
Krysten Ritter is also returning in an undisclosed capacity, reigniting speculation over whether her character Mia LaPierre, aka Lady Vengeance, survived her apparent death or returns in some other form. Desmond Harrington, who appeared briefly in Season 1, has been upgraded to series regular for Season 2, meaning a significantly expanded role for Joey Quinn.
The cast also includes newcomers Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon, alongside returning cast members Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and James Remar.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premieres October 30 on Paramount+, available only on the Premium Plan. Phillips executive produces alongside Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns, with John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean, and Katrina Mathewson also serving as executive producers.
