‘Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy’: Peacock Drops Trailer for Diddy Documentary

Peacock is pulling back the curtain on the rise, fall, and controversies of Sean “Diddy” Combs with Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy. This 90-minute documentary special premieres Tuesday, January 14, and dives into Combs’ transformation from a rising music mogul to a figure entangled in legal battles and public scrutiny.

The trailer opens with candid reflections from people once in Diddy’s inner circle, painting a vivid picture of the man behind the music and the allegations. Featuring never-before-seen footage, the film charts his journey from his early days as Sean Combs to the Puffy and Diddy eras, exploring the forces that propelled him to the top—and the dark allegations that followed.

Viewers can expect exclusive interviews and stories from those who know Combs best, including a childhood friend, a former bodyguard, and a winner from Making the Band. Singer-songwriter Al B. Sure!, who shares a personal history with Combs through Uptown Records and his late ex-partner Kim Porter, speaks out for the first time since Combs’ arrest.

The film also touches on troubling accusations, with anonymous voices sharing unsettling accounts. One participant claims, “They said they could ship me off and sell me to everyone,” while another sheds light on inappropriate encounters involving underage girls.

Peacock describes the documentary as a chance for audiences to “rethink everything they thought they knew about the mogul behind the music—and the mugshot.”

Combs’ arrest on September 16 in New York marked the beginning of a high-profile legal saga. Facing federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution-related offenses, Combs has remained in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after multiple bail denials. His criminal trial is set for may, and he faces additional civil lawsuits tied to allegations of sexual misconduct.

This Peacock special joins a growing list of projects examining Combs’ life and controversies, including ABC News’ Secret Life of Diddy and Hulu’s The Honorable Shyne. With his legal battles far from over, more documentaries addressing his rise and fall are expected.

Produced by Ample Entertainment, Blink Films, and FGW Productions, Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy is led by executive producers Ari Mark, Phil Lott, Sumit David, Stephanie Frederic, Laura Jones, Justine Kershaw, and Sara Lavery.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, january 14, and catch the full story on Peacock. Watch the trailer now to get a glimpse of what’s to come.
