Fox just dropped a first look at Doc, its upcoming medical procedural based on the Italian hit series Doc — Nelle tue mani. This preview clip comes ahead of the series’ premiere in January 2025.
The cast of ‘Doc’ includes Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, Omar Metwally, and Anya Banerjee in regular roles, with Patrick Walker and Scott Wolf making recurring appearances. Unlike the Italian series, which centered around a male protagonist, this adaptation gives the storyline a fresh twist, focusing on Dr. Amy Larsen’s unique challenges.
In Doc, Molly Parker stars as Dr. Amy Larsen, a powerhouse Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. But after a traumatic brain injury wipes out the last eight years of her memory, she faces a world she no longer recognizes. Amy now struggles with patients she can’t remember, colleagues she’s forgotten, and a life that feels almost foreign, including the love she once had and the tragedy that drove a wedge between her and those closest to her. Her only lifeline? Her now-estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she still remembers as a little girl. With her world turned upside down, Amy is determined to reclaim her place in medicine and her connection to those she loves, even if it means starting from scratch.
Amirah Vann is cast as Dr. Gina Walker, a neuropsychiatrist and Dr. Larsen’s best friend for two decades. Patrick Walker, in a recurring role, plays Dr. Theodore “TJ” Coleman, a 1st-year resident who is smart, kind, and dedicated to helping Dr. Larsen navigate her new reality.
Omar Metwally takes on the role of Dr. Michael Hamda, the new Westside Hospital CMO, bringing natural authority and intelligence to the character. Jon Ecker portrays Dr. Jake Heller, the dedicated and charming Chief Resident who continues to support Dr. Larsen despite her memory loss. Anya Banerjee plays Dr. Sonya Maitra, a 3rd-year resident with a self-deprecating and funny personality.
The series is a co-production by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios, with Barbie Kligman at the helm as showrunner and executive producer. Hank Steinberg of Channel Road Productions and Erwin Stoff from 3 Arts Entertainment join as executive producers.
Tune in to Game 2 of the World Series on saturday to catch this exclusive first look at Doc on Fox!
