Edward Enninful Launches EE72: A New Era in Media and Entertainment

Edward Enninful is stepping into a bold new chapter.

A year after wrapping up his tenure as British Vogue’s editor-in-chief with a history-making final issue, Enninful has unveiled his latest venture: EE72, a global media and entertainment company. Partnering with his sister, Akua Enninful, the powerhouse duo is setting out to redefine storytelling with “transformational content, immersive experiences, and innovative products.” Edward will serve as co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, while Akua takes the helm as co-founder and CEO.

“EE72 represents a natural progression of the foundation I’ve built my career on,” Enninful said in a statement. “We’re creating a space where creativity transcends boundaries, where diverse voices don’t just exist—they lead. Our mission is to reshape how we see and understand each other, building bridges across cultures and communities.”

On Instagram, Enninful offered more insight into his vision, sharing that EE72 is born from his lifelong belief in the power of storytelling. “From i-D to Italian Vogue, Japanese Vogue, American Vogue, W, and British Vogue, everything has led to this moment. Now, more than ever, it’s time for us to come together, create together, and show a new way forward.”

While details on EE72’s upcoming projects are still under wraps, the company’s social media teases a commitment to “boundary-pushing content” and partnerships that reflect today’s interconnected world.

Enninful’s career has been one of firsts. At just 18, he became fashion director of i-D magazine, a role he held for nearly two decades. He later brought his creative vision to Vogue Italia, Vogue, and W Magazine before making history as British Vogue’s first Black editor-in-chief in 2017. His tenure saw a reinvention of the magazine’s voice, championing inclusivity and cultural impact.

His final British Vogue cover in February 2024 was a fitting farewell—featuring over 40 industry icons, from Naomi Campbell to Cindy Crawford, a tribute to his lasting impact.

Beyond EE72, Enninful continues to shape the industry. He was recently appointed to the host committee for the 2025 Met Gala, themed Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, joining co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour.
