Joy Sunday and Chris Perfetti Join HBO’s Dark Comedy DTF St. Louis

Joy Sunday (Wednesday) and Chris Perfetti (Abbott Elementary, Twinless) are the latest additions to HBO’s upcoming seven-episode limited series DTF St. Louis. The project, created by writer, director, and showrunner Steve Conrad, is currently in production.

The darkly comedic series follows a love triangle between three adults navigating the trials of middle age—one that ultimately leads to murder. Perfetti takes on the role of “Tiger Tiger,” while Sunday will portray “Jodie.”

They join an ensemble cast that includes Jason Bateman, David Harbour, Linda Cardellini, and Richard Jenkins. Jenkins plays a detective investigating the crime, while Cardellini is set to play a character named Carol.

Conrad, known for his work on Patriot and Perpetual Grace, LTD, serves as an executive producer alongside Bateman, Harbour, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch (Escape Artists), Molly Allen, Bruce Terris, Michael Costigan (Aggregate Films), Kristina Wenson (Bravo Axolotl), Jennifer Scher (Elephant Pictures), and MGM Television.

DTF St. Louis evolved from Conrad’s previous HBO project My Dentist’s Murder Trial, which was initially in development with Harbour and Pedro Pascal attached to star. That series, based on a true-crime case involving a New York dentist accused of murder, has since been reimagined into DTF St. Louis, which maintains much of the original creative team while shifting to a wholly new premise.

A release date for DTF St. Louis has yet to be announced.
