SZA, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson and Camden Brooks Join Voice Cast of ‘CoComelon: The Movie’

The uber popular children’s YouTube phenomenon is making its way to the big screen — and it’s bringing some serious star power along for the ride.

Universal Pictures has revealed the voice cast for CoComelon: The Movie, set for a theatrical release on February 19, 2027. The film will feature an ensemble of comedic and musical talent voicing new characters, including SZA (One of Them Days), Nicholas Hoult (Superman), Ike Barinholtz (The Studio), SNL’s Sarah Sherman and Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson (The Daily Show), Matt Friend (Family Guy), Rhys Darby (Jumanji: The Next Level), and Cristo Fernández (Ted Lasso).

Voicing the show’s core kid characters are Connor Esterson (Spy Kids: Armageddon) as JJ, Camden Brooks (Swapped) as Cody, Olivia London Leyva (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Nina, and Aerina DeBoer (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as CeCe.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, though the film is teased as an “epic adventure” that takes JJ, his friends, and a new cast of characters on a cinematic journey filled with original music and rich storytelling.

Kat Good, a story artist on Kung Fu Panda, is directing. Grammy-winning songwriter Justin Tranter — whose collaborations include work with Chappell Roan, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez — serves as executive music producer.

The film is produced by Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios, and DreamWorks Animation, with animation by the DNEG Group.

CoComelon originated as a YouTube channel in 2006 and has since grown into one of the world’s most-watched children’s franchises, averaging more than 4 billion monthly views on YouTube across more than 80 countries. The series is currently on Netflix, though it will make the move to Disney+ in 2027 after Netflix declined to renew its license.
