Ephraim Sykes Joins Season 2 of Russian Doll

Season 2 of Netflix’s Russian Doll is coming together and adds Ephraim Sykes (Hamilton) to the cast.

Russian Doll follows Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) who is caught in a time loop as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City. She dies repeatedly, always restarting at the same moment at the party, as she tries to figure out what is happening to her. She meets a man who is experiencing exactly the same thing in a different event.

Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Elizabeth Ashley and Charlie Barnett also starred in season one. Schitt’s Creek alum Annie Murphy, Sharlto Copley, and Carolyn Michelle Smith have also joined the cast for its second season.

The streamer is giving away no details or character descriptions away for the second season.

Lyonne created Russian Doll as well as executive produces alongside Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland. It premiered on Netflix in February 2019. Universal Television, Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions, JAX Media and 3 Arts Entertainment produce Russian Doll.

Filming on Season 2 is currently underway and Russian Doll will premiere this summer.

Sykes’ credits Hamilton, the Broadway Musical, NBC’s Hairspray Live! and other TV credits include Vinyl, Smash, 30 Rock and Luke Cage. He also earned a Tony nominee for his role in Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations. Up next he will star as Michael Jackson in the upcoming Broadway musical, MJ The Musical.
