Fans of Dexter: Resurrection are getting their first peek at Season 2. Paramount+ has released a batch of first-look images alongside new details about what is in store for America’s favorite fictional serial killer when the show returns.
From showrunner Clyde Phillips, Season 2 finds Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall, caught between two killers, one notorious and one terrorizing New York in ways no one ever anticipated, all while battling his greatest enemy yet: a midlife crisis. Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.
Among the most intriguing reveals from the first-look images is Harrison’s new career path. The younger Morgan has apparently followed in the family tradition by joining law enforcement, continuing a lineage that includes his grandfather Harry Morgan as a detective, his father Dexter as a blood spatter analyst and his aunt Debra Morgan as a homicide detective in the original series.
Desmond Harrington also returns as Joey Quinn with a significantly expanded role, having been promoted to series regular. Quinn has long suspected Dexter of being a killer dating back to the mothership series, and with his friend Angel Batista having been killed by Leon Prater, played by Peter Dinklage, in Season 1, his suspicions about Dexter’s involvement are likely to intensify. Uma Thurman also returns as Charley, whose reason for coming back remains unknown, though fans will remember she warned Dexter last season that she would be the one to kill his son Harrison. A first-look image showing Charley and Dexter appearing to hold hands raises immediate questions about where their dynamic is headed.
Returning cast members also include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, James Remar and Krysten Ritter in a guest-starring role. New series regular additions for Season 2 include Brian Cox, Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson. Gabriel Luna also joins as a guest star.
A premiere date for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 has not yet been announced.
