We’re getting the first look and release date for Prime Video’s Reacher spinoff Neagley. Starring Maria Sten in a reprisal of her fan-favorite character from the mothership series, Neagley will premiere with all eight episodes Wednesday, Sept. 16, following the Reacher season 4 finale. The streamer also released several season 1 photos alongside the announcement.
In the spinoff, Sten stars as Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and former military protégé of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice. Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.
The ensemble cast includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole. Ritchson guest stars as Jack Reacher.
The offshoot was created for television by Reacher executive producer and showrunner Nick Santora, who developed the mothership series based on Lee Child’s books, and Nicholas Wootton, with whom he previously worked on Prison Break. Santora and Wootton serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. Lee Child, Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs, and Lisa Kussner also executive produce.
Neagley is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, with Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid, and Niko Fernandez overseeing the project for Paramount Television Studios.
Reacher season 4 premieres Wednesday, Aug. 12, with the first three episodes followed by weekly episodes through Sept. 16. The fourth season, based on the 13th Reacher novel, “Gone Tomorrow,” kicks off when a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway goes horribly wrong, drawing Jack Reacher into a complex and deadly game that pits him against ruthless foes from the highest echelons of power. New to the season 4 cast are Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson. The series has already been renewed for season 5.
Neagley will roll out across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide upon its Sept. 16 premiere.
