FX has released the full trailer for American Horror Story: 13, offering the deepest look yet at the anthology’s 13th installment ahead of its Thursday, September 24 premiere, following the franchise’s returning ensemble previously confirmed in the season’s teaser.
The new footage gives the first real glimpse into the season’s opening episodes. The premiere, “13,” follows Ben taking on hospice care for a mysterious client in an eerie penthouse after a near-death experience, written by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and directed by Murphy. The second episode, “1:13 AM,” finds Ben navigating unusual hospice duties while learning how the job actually became available. The third, “Rauhnacht,” centers on Constance hosting a holiday party and carefully managing two surprise guests, followed by “Is That All There Is?,” which follows her guests to darker places as the night winds down. The fifth episode, “Date Night,” brings a friend of Ben’s girlfriend back into his life, and the sixth, “The Return of Devil’s Night,” finds the witches of Miss Robichaux’s Academy turning to powers older than the school itself as an unseen threat closes in.
The trailer reinforces creator Ryan Murphy’s framing of the season as a “greatest hits” event for the franchise, giving AHS: 13 the chance to revisit some of the anthology’s most memorable worlds, from the Murder House and the witches of Coven to storylines that collided in Apocalypse.
American Horror Story: 13 will run 13 half-hour episodes, with three-episode launches for both the premiere week and week two, followed by two episodes releasing each Thursday through the finale on October 29.
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story debuted in 2011 and has earned more than 100 Emmy nominations, making it the longest-running hour-long series in FX history. FX says the franchise has accumulated more than 700 million streaming hours worldwide.
American Horror Story: 13 is produced by 20th Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ned Martel, Charlie Carver, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Tanase Popa, Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Jennifer Salt and Tim Minear serve as executive producers.
American Horror Story: 13 premieres Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu.
