Prime Video has announced April 10 as the premiere date for its upcoming action thriller G20, starring Viola Davis as U.S. President Danielle Sutton. Directed by Patricia Riggen, the high-stakes film follows President Sutton as she becomes the target of a deadly siege during a G20 summit. With world leaders in danger and her family at risk, Sutton must outwit the attackers to protect lives and secure her nation’s future.

The film, produced by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with MRC, JuVee Productions, and Mad Chance Productions, will be available to stream in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

“This is Viola Davis as you’ve never seen her—heroically kicking tons of ass in a global thrill ride,” Riggen shared. “With G20, I wanted to craft a classic edge-of-your-seat action film that reflects the high stakes of our modern world.”

Joining Davis in the ensemble cast are Anthony Anderson as Derek Sutton, Marsai Martin as Serena Sutton,  Christopher Farrar as Demetrius Sutton, Ramón Rodríguez as Agent Manny Ruiz, Douglas Hodge as Oliver Everett, Elizabeth Marvel as Joanna Worth, and Antony Starr as Rutledge, among others.

The script was penned by Logan and Noah Miller, with revisions by Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss. Producers Davis and Julius Tennon emphasized the film’s emotional core, describing it as a “high-stakes action film with a lot of heart.” Producer Andrew Lazar added, “It’s rooted in the universal drive to protect the people and places that matter most to us.”

The film blends intense action sequences with a compelling personal narrative, showcasing Davis as a leader balancing her role as a global diplomat and a protective mother. Riggen’s direction aims to deliver a story that resonates in today’s politically and technologically complex world.
