Gail Bean is revving up her resume with yet another project under her belt. Alongside her roles in ‘P-Valley’, ‘Harlem’, and ‘The Piano Lesson, the ‘Snowfall’ alum is set to lead “Both Eyes Open,” an independent psychological thriller written and directed by Ariel Julia Hairston.

The film, produced by RodFather Productions, also stars Taye Diggs (“The Best Man”), Joy Brunson (“This Is Us”), Christie Leverette (“You’ll Never Leave Me”), Tristan Mack Wilds (“The Wire”), Michael Oloyede (“This is Paradise”), and Carla Fisher (“The Boss”).

“Both Eyes Open” follows Ally, portrayed by Bean, as she attempts to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship. However, her past continues to haunt her through relentless hallucinations of her abuser. Mysterious messages start to appear, suggesting her tormentor might still be nearby. As the intensity of these messages grows, Ally’s reality begins to unravel, leading her to a startling discovery much closer to home.

In a statement to Deadline, producers McClure and Ferrell expressed their mission with RodFather Productions: “When we started RodFather Productions, we knew we wanted to be game changers in the film industry. We treat each and every cast and crew member as though they were a member of our family. As filmmakers, we are deeply committed to discovering and showcasing the brilliance of exceptionally talented individuals—especially those who may not have been afforded the opportunities they deserve. ‘Both Eyes Open’ is the first of many more films to come, and we look forward to continuing to empower and entertain.”

Gail Bean, who has also appeared in series such as “P-Valley” and “Love in the Time of Corona,” and films like “The Belko Experiment,” will soon be seen in Malcolm Washington’s adaptation of August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson” for Netflix and the third season of Prime Video’s “Harlem.”

This project serves as a reunion for Director Hairston and Diggs who worked together on the romantic comedy “The Comeback.”
