After more than four decades in Hollywood, Garcelle Beauvais is ready to tell her story—on her own terms.
The actress, producer, and TV host will release her second memoir, Protecting My Peace… at All Costs, exclusively on Audible on May 7. Written and narrated by Beauvais, the Audible Original promises a deeply personal look into what she describes as “the quiet awakening that guided her into her truth.”
At the center of the memoir is her decision to step away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after five seasons—a move rooted in self-preservation and growth.
“This is a story about knowing when your spirit says no more, and having the courage to honor that truth,” Beauvais shared. “Learning to protect my peace, set boundaries without apology, and finally walk in the power that I have always carried isn’t selfish. It’s survival.”
The memoir expands on themes introduced in her 2022 book, Love Me As I Am, diving deeper into her journey from Haiti to Hollywood. Beauvais reflects on motherhood, marriage, friendship breakups, and navigating fame—offering insight into the lessons that shaped her both personally and professionally.
She also emphasized the importance of showing up fully as herself: “I wanted to share what I’ve learned about walking into rooms as my full self and refusing to leave any part of who I am at the door… Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is simply choose you.”
According to Audible, the project aligns with its focus on intimate, transformative storytelling. “This isn’t just a celebrity memoir,” said Kate Navin, Audible’s head of creative development for North America. “Garcelle’s decision to share her journey exclusively in audio allows for a vulnerability that perfectly suits her message.”
Beyond reality TV, Beauvais has built a wide-ranging career, with credits spanning The Jamie Foxx Show, NYPD Blue, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the Coming to America franchise. Through her production company, she’s also executive produced and starred in projects like Black Girl Missing and Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love.
