‘Gen-V’ Gives Viewers a Glimpse Into the Competitive and Corrupt World of Superhero College [TRAILER]

Prime Video has released the highly anticipated trailer for “Gen V,” the college-set spinoff of the hit series “The Boys.” The show will debut on September 29, with three episodes premiering on the same day, followed by weekly releases until the season finale on November 3.

“Gen V” follows the training of the first generation of superheroes who discover their powers are a result of Compound V injections, not divine gifts. The series centers on the competitive and morally challenging lives of these young heroes as they vie for top ranking at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting.

The official synopsis reads, “They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”

The cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Fans of the original series will be thrilled to know that “Gen V” will feature appearances by Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne, reprising their roles from “The Boys.” And guest appearances include Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert, and Jason Ritter.

The recently released trailer offers an enticing glimpse into the thrilling world of “Gen V.” Set in the same universe as “The Boys,” the spinoff follows Marie Moreau (Sinclair), a talented blood-bender who dreams of becoming a renowned superhero. As she navigates the competitive and corrupt environment at Godolkin University, Marie quickly realizes the perilous nature of her surroundings. With powerful themes of ambition, sacrifice, and the blurred lines between right and wrong, “Gen V” promises to be a gripping addition to the Prime Video lineup.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the masterminds behind “The Boys” universe, have teased that “Gen V” will be even wilder and more shocking than ever before, with its college-aged superheroes getting involved in some truly chaotic and thrilling antics.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Nelson Cragg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers on the spinoff series. Serving as co-executive producers are Brant Englestein, Sarah Carbiener, Lisa Kussner, Gabriel Garcia, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, and Loreli Alanís. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
