Gilded Age Season 2 Gets a First Look and Premiere Date [TRAILER]

HBO has officially announced the premiere date for The Gilded Age season 2. The series is set to return on October 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will also be available for streaming on HBO Max. Accompanying this announcement, HBO has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

The sophomore season will consist of eight episodes. Set in the year 1883, the new season begins with the revelation that Bertha Russell’s (Carrie Coon) bid for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Across these episodes, viewers will witness Bertha’s efforts to challenge the old system and Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy), as she aims not only to establish herself in Society but also to potentially assume a leadership role.

Meanwhile, George Russell (Morgan Spector) confronts a growing union at his Pittsburgh steel plant. In the Brook House, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) continues her journey by discreetly teaching at a girls’ school, while Ada (Cynthia Nixon)’s unexpected courtship surprises everyone, except Agnes (Christine Baranski), who remains disapproving. The Scott family in Brooklyn embarks on a path of healing from a shocking revelation, while Peggy (Denée Benton) channels her activist spirit through her work at the NY Globe alongside T. Thomas Fortune (Sullivan Jones).

The Gilded Age season 2 cast includes familiar faces such as Ben Ahlers, Michael Cerveris, Kelley Curran, Taissa Farmiga, Jack Gilpin, Simon Jones, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Debra Monk, Kristine Nielsen, Kelli O’Hara, Patrick Page, Harry Richardson, Taylor Richardson, Blake Ritson, Douglas Sills, Erin Wilhelmi, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, John Douglas Thompson, Ashlie Atkinson, Laura Benanti, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Christopher Denham, David Furr, Ward Horton, Matilda Lawler, and Robert Sean Leonard.

Julian Fellowes, the series creator, also serves as the writer and executive producer. Sonja Warfield shares the roles of writer and executive producer, while Michael Engler takes on the responsibilities of director and executive producer. Gareth Neame, David Crockett, Bob Greenblatt, and Salli Richardson-Whitfield are also part of the executive producing team. “The Gilded Age” is a collaborative effort between HBO and Universal Television.
