Netflix is bringing the heat this summer with the return of one of its most-watched YA dramas. Ginny & Georgia Season 3 officially lands on June 5, and to get folks talking, the streamer just dropped a moody, tension-filled teaser trailer — and let’s just say, the Miller women are not okay.
Opening with Antonia Gentry’s Ginny asking, “What happens when everything falls apart?” the teaser wastes no time reminding us where Season 2 left off: Georgia (Brianne Howey) being arrested for murder — at her own wedding. Now in Season 3, we pick up with Georgia behind bars and Ginny stuck navigating the emotional wreckage, juggling school, family, and the messy truths unraveling around her.
From the looks of the clip, Georgia might be locked up physically, but Ginny’s walking through her own kind of prison. Flash cuts show Georgia being led by guards, Ginny arriving with a packed bag like she’s preparing for a fight, and a school dance where things feel more sinister than celebratory.
“Don’t you wanna ask me if I did it?” Georgia teases in one scene, raising even more questions about what’s to come. Is she guilty, or just playing the part?
The teaser rolls out fast glimpses of returning favorites: Zion (Nathan Mitchell), little Austin (Diesel La Torraca), Marcus (Felix Mallard), Max and the rest of the MANG gang (Sara Waisglass, Katie Douglas, and Chelsea Clark), Mayor Paul (Scott Porter), and Joe (Raymond Ablack), who’s traded his usual look for something a little more rugged. There’s a courtroom scene where even the judge looks lost, and Georgia? She’s posted up in pink with a grin, like she’s already three steps ahead.
“I’m not a bad person,” she says in that signature Georgia drawl. “It’s all about perception.”
Well, perception or not, there’s no denying the stakes have been raised this season. Season 3 picks up in the wake of Georgia’s wedding-day arrest for the murder of Tom Fuller (Vincent Legault), and the fallout stretches far beyond her jail cell. Ginny’s trying to make sense of her mom’s choices while figuring out who she is, and the people around them — Paul, Marcus, Cynthia, and more — are all forced to choose sides, whether they want to or not.
The teaser is layered with tension, but it also teases sweet moments too: a near kiss between Ginny and Marcus, family scenes with Zion and Austin, and the kind of drama-laced high school dance that only Ginny & Georgia could deliver.
The third season spans 10 hour-long episodes and is led by showrunner and executive producer Sarah Glinski, with series creator Sarah Lampert staying on as EP alongside Jeff Tahler, Jenny Daly, Holly Hines, Daniel March, Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, and Armand Leo.
The full returning cast includes Brianne Howey, Antonia Gentry, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Diesel La Torraca, Jennifer Robertson, Scott Porter, Raymond Ablack, Katie Douglas, Chelsea Clark, and Nathan Mitchell. Ty Dolan and Noah Lamanna also return as Wolfe and Tris.
While the teaser stops short of giving too much away, Brianne Howey recently teased on the Podcrushed podcast that Season 3 will push Georgia further than ever before.
“There’s one or two things this season Georgia does that are really hard to get behind,” she said. “There’s a pretty big one… I won’t spoil it yet.”
She also made it clear that this ride isn’t ending anytime soon. “We can’t wrap it up in a pretty bow — that’s not real life. That’s certainly not Georgia’s life. It never has been. Why would it start to be now?”
With Season 4 already greenlit, it’s safe to say the mess is far from over.
