Glynn Turman has been added to the cast of Warner Bros and New Line’s Civil War Western drama, Horizon: An American Saga, joining previously announced actors Kathleen Quinlan and Giovanni Ribisi. Kevin Costner is both directing and starring in the film, alongside Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Ella Hunt, Will Patton, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman and Thomas Haden Church.
Horizon: An American Saga is the second chapter of a multi-faceted chronicle, which covers 15 years of the pre- and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. The film follows the great tradition of classic Westerns and explores the allure of the old West, taking audiences on a treacherous journey across a country at war with itself. The story is experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes, all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.

The project marks Costner’s return to a setting he previously explored in his directorial debut, Dances with Wolves, which grossed over $424M worldwide and won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Director. Horizon: An American Saga is being produced by Costner’s Territory Pictures and written by Costner and Jon Baird (The Explorers Guild).
The film will be distributed in the U.S. by Warner Bros. Pictures and is a presentation of New Line Cinema. The production team includes director of photography J. Michael Muro, production designer Derek R. Hill, editor Miklos Wright, and costume designer Lisa Lovaas, who all worked on the first installment of the series.
