Betplus has announced its fall lineup, featuring the film “God’s Grace: The Sheila Johnson Story,” set to premiere on October 19th.
“God’s Grace” delves into the remarkable life of Sheila Marie Johnson, portrayed by Demetria McKinney. At the age of 43, Sheila’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer, leading to her retirement from the Air Force. However, her journey didn’t end there. Sheila went on to establish an advocacy group dedicated to supporting and empowering Black women and men facing the challenges of this devastating disease.
Michael Beach takes on the role of Dillard, while DeVon Franklin embodies Jackson, and Drew Sidora portrays Jasmine. The cast also includes Amber Reign Smith as Janaia, Deja Dee as Adriene, Bonita Brisker as Pastor Lewis, and Contessa Metcalfe as Dr. Shepherd. The ensemble is further enriched by the talents of Demi Castro, Scott Deal, Shavonia Jones, Sheldon Lance McCullough, Jael Roberson, Anna Wright, Erin Dangler, Kelsi Lee, and Tae Rene.
“God’s Grace: The Sheila Johnson Story” is directed by Charmin Lee, with a script crafted by Angela Burt-Murray. The film is produced by MarVista. Don’t miss this compelling story of resilience and empowerment on Betplus starting October 19th.
